Our Mission:
The SILKS embrace the mission of the Canadian Progress Club in the spirit of Service in Love, Kindness and Strength with a focus on women's and children’s charities. With the interaction and goodwill between our members we plan to be shining examples of those very qualities necessary to enhance the quality of life to those less fortunate.
SILKS — Service in Love Kindness And Strength
Our Club:
In 2005, the St. Albert CPC Men’s Club was given the challenge to formulate an all-ladies Canadian Progess Club to represent the Greater Edmonton area.
After months of meetings and recruiting this became a reality and on September 6th, 2006, 23 ladies became chartered members of the new club, CPC SILKS.
SILKS is an acronym for Service in Love, Kindness and Strength: all the qualities that epitomize what Progress Clubs across Canada stand for. We raise money to support the following charities: Special Olympics, Uncles and Aunts at Large, Camp Warwa, the Youth Emergency Shelter, along with Clean Scene Network for Youth, Brian Layton Infant Formula Program (St. Albert Food Bank), Prostitution Awareness and Action Foundation of Edmonton (PAAFE), and Little Bits Therapeutic Riding Association.
